Employer Disability Awareness Training: The Encounter
March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The District of Columbia’s theme is “We’re Here All Year – Influencing Change, Impacting Lives.” Employers are invited to participate in this training which will consist of a panel of persons with disabilities.
Training objectives:
- Help participants feel more comfortable communicating with people with disabilities.
- Provide a better understanding of specific disabilities.
- Allow participants to engage with people with disabilities in a safe, information-sharing environment.
The Windmills module will be facilitated by business engagement staff from the District of Columbia Department on Disability Services and the Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired.
