Petworth Main Street

Petworth Main Street (PMS) serves the commercial corridors of the Petworth neighborhood and a part of Brightwood. PMS facilitates economic development by aiding small businesses and neighborhood corridors, offering technical assistance and organizing events to showcase the distinctive business landscape. With the backing of business owners, community members, and sponsors, PMS provides year-round programming and support for over 125 businesses. PMS is managed by the nonprofit Uptown Community Initiative.

Programs and Services Offered

PMS provides one-on-one technical assistance, supports businesses in the development and submission of grant and loan applications, permits, and offers free educational workshops for small businesses.

Once a year, PMS has a Small Business Grant competition and awards from $1,000 to $5,000 to eligible brick and mortar businesses located on the PMS Corridors.

They also host networking events for local business owners to connect, share ideas, and collaborate.

Each year, PMS coordinates several community events to drive consumer traffic like Celebrate Petworth, Petworth Porch Fest and Art All Night.
