(MHCDO) strives to transform Ward 7 into a thriving, inclusive, and vibrant community by fostering economic growth, attracting resources, and enhancing opportunities for all residents, particularly those 'East of the Anacostia River', in the District of Columbia.

MHCDO’s onsite Financial Empowerment Center (FEC), offers regular workshops or counseling sessions sponsored by the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) and the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD).
In partnership with Operation HOPE, they host an eight-week credit and money management course preparing entrepreneurs for establishing business loans and lines of credit.
They also have a workspace rentals with several workspace packages to meet the needs of start-ups, existing businesses, and solopreneurs.
