DC Bar Pro Bono Center

The D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center provides legal assistance to community based nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs from low-income or economical disadvantaged communities. With their Small Business Legal Assistance Program, they provide legal assistance to the District’s small businesses.

Programs and Services Offered

The Small Business Brief Advice Legal Clinic offers one-on-one legal assistance to both aspiring and existing businesses. The topics covered include entity formation, corporate law, contract review or disputes, commercial leasing, employment law, intellectual property, and more. The Clinic holds monthly sessions that are generally in-person (walk-in), with approximately three virtual sessions (requiring pre-registration and advance intake) per year.

In addition, the DC Bar Pro Bono Center has a robust educational component. At lawhelp.org/dc/npsb, small businesses can watch webinars on legal topics of all types, review written guides, read legal alerts on changes in the law that impact small businesses, and more.
